Retirement trajectories and health
This project is funded by the Nordea Foundation as part of the Center for Healthy Aging at University of Copenhagen
The project uses survey and register data to investigate retirement trajectories in Denmark. Who retires, when and how, - and is it good for their health? What motivates people to work beyond the age where they can obtain public pensions? Why do more and more Danes express a desire to reduce their working hours when they approach retirement? And which parts of the population have that option in practice? What is the role of voluntary activites and informal care work before and after retirement?
These and other questions are addressed using cohort and registry data.
